Queen Ziggy Stardust
2012
Mural
‘Queen Ziggy Stardus’ is a stencil piece that appeared as the country celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. The artwork depicts the Queen wearing a crown with a jagged blue and red lightning flash across her face, reminiscent of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust character from the 1970s. Banksy is widely believed to have created the piece as his tribute to the Queen's 60-year reign. The artwork is located next to Bristol's Grand Appeal, a charity that raises funds for the Children's Hospital.
