Sale Ends Today
2006
Print on Paper

This artwork depicting cloaked women engaged in prayer at a ‘Sale Ends Today’ sign was created for Banksy's "Barely Legal" exhibition in Los Angeles in 2006. This piece reflects Banksy's critical perspective on the art industry and the commodification of his own work.
It also explores the intersection of materialism and religious devotion in contemporary society.
During the "Barely Legal" exhibition, 100 unsigned prints of this artwork were made available for purchase. Additionally, in 2007, POW*re-released ‘Sale Ends Today’ with an additional 150 signed prints, further expanding its availability to collectors and enthusiasts.
*Pictures on Walls (POW) was established in 2003, partly by Banksy, to provide artists with a platform to sell their work directly, without having to pay dealer commissions. It played a significant role in supporting emerging street artists and enabling them to sustain their careers by producing high-quality original prints.
