Print on Canvas

‘Stop Me Before I Paint Again' reflects Banksy's perspective on the motivations behind individuals and how they seek to contribute to society. It was featured in the exhibition ‘Banksy: The Unauthorised Retrospective’ at S/2 London, curated by Steve Lazarides in 2014.
Banksy sheds light on his belief that individuals choose different paths in their efforts to bring about societal change: "Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place. Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better-looking place," he said. While some choose to join the police force to improve society, others turn to unconventional means, such as street art and vandalism, to enhance the aesthetics of their surroundings.
